Alexander Thomson’s architectural style at its core derived from the limited precedents provided by the architecture of Ancient Greece. Thomson found that those precedents could be examined by looking to the work of his contemporary Glaswegian architects. Scott Abercrombie explores the influence of the Greek Revival on Thomson’s work, and on the architecture of Glasgow.
Scott Abercrombie is an architect and former Chair of The Alexander Thomson Society.
